Afton is a great tool for independent artists. A lot of popular opinion is that every artist should be independent due to how a lot of major labels use artists. However most people don't have any idea what it entails to be independent going into such things as marketing, promoting, venue booking, and etc. Afton provides a great opportunity for artist to get out there and get exposure that's so important when you're all on your own. I personally think this is critical due to the difficulty that comes with trying to network with no label backing.
